Akshara Learning
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Akshara Digital Learning Private Limited (“we”, “us”) collects when you use this website and your account, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account details you give us when you register or update your profile: first and last name, mobile number and email address. A training centre also gives its centre name, address and city.
- Your MPIN, which we never store as you typed it. We keep only a one-way cryptographic hash, so no one at Akshara Learning can read it.
- Enrolment and fee details: the courses and batches you enrol in, the fee for each enrolment, and every payment against it: amount, date, status, how it was paid, receipt number and, for a payment made at a centre, the reference the centre records.
- Online payment details: HDFC Bank’s order and transaction references and the outcome it reports. You enter your card or bank details on HDFC Bank’s secure payment page, and your card number and CVV never reach or are stored on our servers.
- Faculty details that a training centre enters for the faculty who teach its batches: name, mobile number, email, subject, and the bank account (account number, IFSC and bank name) their share is paid to, with the account holder’s name the bank returns when the account is verified.
- Consent records: which version of this policy you agreed to, when, and how (on the website, after signing in, or at your centre), and for a student under 18, the name, relation and contact details of the parent or guardian who agreed for them.
- Your requests about your data, and our answers.
- Security records: failed sign-in attempts (the mobile number, the network address and the time) so we can block repeated MPIN guessing, and a record of important actions on an account, such as a registration, sign-in, payment or MPIN reset, with the network address it came from.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To enrol you in batches, collect your fees, and issue receipts.
- To pay faculty their share of the fees, after verifying their bank account.
- To send you service emails, such as fee receipts, a link to reset your MPIN, or a warning when someone signs in to your account after several failed attempts.
- To keep accounts secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and investigate problems.
- To meet our legal, regulatory, tax and audit obligations.
We use your information only for these purposes, with your consent, or where the law allows it without consent. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who we share it with
- Your training centre: the centre that runs your batch sees your name, mobile number, email, enrolment and payments for its batches, so it can support you and record counter payments.
- HDFC Bank, which processes online fee payments through its SmartGateway. For each payment it receives your name, mobile number, email address and the amount. Its own privacy policy applies to the data it processes.
- Cashfree Payments, which verifies faculty bank accounts and sends faculty payouts. It receives the faculty member’s name, bank account details and the payout amount. It receives no student information. When a centre adds a faculty member, we email them this notice.
- Service providers that run our infrastructure, such as cloud hosting and email delivery, and, where enabled, a security check that sign-in and registration requests come from a person.
- Authorities, when we are required to by law, a court order or a regulator.
4. Cookies and browser storage
We do not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. After you sign in, this website stores a few items in your browser’s local storage:
- your sign-in session, which is removed when you sign out;
- the mobile number you last signed in with on that device, so you don’t have to type it again (never your MPIN).
You can remove all of these at any time by clearing this website’s data in your browser.
5. How we protect it
Information is encrypted in transit, MPINs are stored only as hashes, bank account numbers are shown only in masked form, repeated failed sign-in attempts are blocked, and access to personal data is limited to the people and systems that need it to run the service. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to act quickly if something goes wrong.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account details: while your account is open. When it is closed, your mobile number, email and MPIN are erased at once.
- Enrolment, payment, receipt and invoice records, with your name: for eight years after the financial year they belong to, because tax and company law require it, even after your account is closed.
- Faculty bank details and payout records: the same eight years, for the same reason.
- Consent records and your requests: for as long as we keep the data they cover, so we can show what you agreed to.
- Security records (sign-ins, important actions and the network address they came from): at least one year, as the law requires, to detect and investigate misuse.
- Failed sign-in attempts: about a day.
7. Children
You must be 18 or older to register on this website. A student under 18 can be registered only at their training centre, with a parent or lawful guardian present who agrees for them and whose identity the centre checks. We do not track children’s behaviour or show them advertising.
8. Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- get a copy of the personal information we hold about you and who we shared it with. Use Download my data on your Profile;
- correct or update it. You can change your email and MPIN yourself from your Profile; for anything else, raise a request;
- ask us to erase it, except records we must keep by law;
- withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. A student does this with Close my account on their Profile, which erases their contact details at once. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before, and means we can no longer provide the service to you;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or are unable to;
- raise a grievance with us. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Raise any request or grievance from Raise a request or grievance on your Profile, or write to our Grievance Officer below. We answer within 90 days, and the answer appears on your Profile.
9. If something goes wrong
If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you without delay: what happened, what it may mean for you, what we are doing about it, and what you can do. We will also report it to the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will ask you to read and agree to the new version the next time you sign in.
11. Contact and grievances
For any privacy question, request or grievance, contact our Grievance Officer. We answer within 90 days.
